Solange at Bowery

I could rant and rave about the amazingness of this show for ever. I've been on a Solange high for days now.

I met up with one of my oldest friends and we hit up the Solange show! Solo performed the entire TRUE EP, starting off with "Somethings Never Seem to Fucking Work". She threw in performances of T.O.N.Y. and Sandcastle Disco, some of my favorite songs from Sol-Angel & Hadley Street Dreams. I absolutely adored her Royal Tannenbaum wallpaper-inspired suit. Psychedelic!

Solo's opening act was a singer called Kelela. I've never heard of her before but she is amazing. She has a very soft yet powerful voice. A quick search of her didn't find much beside a few collaborative projects and a seldom-used Twitter page so maybe she's an artist on the rise. I'll definitely be looking out for more things on her in the future. And her hair style is pretty dope.
