I'm Older Than 28 So Let's Rebrand: 30-Before-30

Back in 2013, I created a 28-Before-28 Bucket List in hopes of sprucing up my life and getting my life on track for the big 3-0. I accomplished 3 things on that list before it fell on the wayside. Now, as I am inching closer to my 30th birthday in a matter of months, I thought I'd revisit and revamp the bucket list in order to prepare it for my new Dec 31, 2015 deadline.

Upon pulling up the list, I noticed that I have completed more through natural progression that intentionality - and that I probably have a few more blog posts to write to update y'all. I've created a page at the top of the blog entitled 'thirtyXthirty' so you can easily follow along with the adventures. I'm keeping the same "The 28 Before 28 Project" hashtag though - for nostalgia's sake.

Cousins and I at a wedding rehearsal dinner in June 2015. Coordination was completely coincidental.

So, here is the new and improved list. I got a lot of work to do over the next 5.5 months *chuckles nervously*

1. Improve my Dating Life
It's currently dryer than the Sahara Desert. I've got to do better.

2. Speak French Fluently
I can read and comprehend but can't speak it. I have Duolingo and plan to practice daily.

3. Sewing Lessons
At this point, I just want to be able to tailor my own clothes. I found a few online courses but I think I need to find a classroom experience.

4. Pay off 3 credit cards by the end of the year.
I want zero balances on my CarCareOne card, Target card, and my Wells Fargo Visa card.

5. Tithe every pay period [On Track!]
I believe in tithing and want to be more diligent in my offerings.

6. Save a portion of each check every pay period.
I recently stumbled across Money in Your 20s and it's inspired me to learn and maintain better financial skills.

7. Get supplemental income
I love writing and working in social media. Hopefully, I can find a position that affords me the flexibility to work from home/work virtually

8. Wake up every morning at 6am
I want to take time to meditate and work out for at least 30 minutes. Wellness habits must be made concrete now.

9. Weekly exercise regimen.
I just want to run 15 miles a week. We'll flesh the rest out later.

10. Visit California
I haven't been west of Texas and I have far too many people whom I love on the West Coast for me to have never made that trip.

11. Get out of America
I have two trips lined up for 2016 but it would be dope of I could do something before this year ends.

12.  Go to a NE Patriots Football Game
Attending one at Gillette Stadium would be the goal but Massachusetts gets cold fairly early and ya girl can't take that weather. The 11/15/15 game vs the Giants (at MetLife) would be a 2x Super Bowl rematch that my soul craves. The tickets are a pricey but I will eat Ramen Noodles 3x a day for two months for sideline seats

13. Take a photography class
I don't necessarily want to be a photographer; just want to take great pics.

14. Pay for someone's meal behind me at the drive-thru
Keep paying it forward.

15. Write a letter to myself to read on my 30th birthday
...cause I'm sentimental like that.

16.  Make eye contact and smile at strangers daily.
I'm the Queen of the "Please Don't Take to Me" face and body language. I must fix this.

17.  Stay at a Bed & Breakfast
Preferably somewhere like Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, or Vermont

18. Go snowboarding
It's something I've expressed wanting to do for the past two years but have never done.

19. Try one new recipe a month
Hectic school and work schedule has kept me out of the kitchen for years. I want to build my repertoire.

20. See the Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon and Yosemite have always been my favorite US landmarks. I'm heading to Phoenix for a work meeting on Oct 18-22. While I'm busy with meetings on the 19-21, I think I can squeeze in a Grand Canyon trip (its a 3 hour drive from the airport) as soon as I land. It would be crazy but worth it.

21. Walk on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Just because its something everyone should do.

22. Attend a Broadway show.
Either The Lion King or Aladdin or Chicago or Finding Neverland

23. Buy the cutest guy at the bar a drink. [Completed!]
YOLO!

24. Get a tattoo. [I actually have two now O_O]
I've wanted one for years and know exactly where I want to put it. The question now is more so of "what". Also, I want a grill but I am too nervous to fully list it soooo... let's just keep it as a mild 24.5.

25. Do a photo shoot [Completed!]
I'm pretty self-conscious and hate being the subject of photographs. Its time to push myself.

26. Get a nameplate ring.
Every time I see Vashtie's I'm reminded of how much I've always want one. I have to decide between birthstone or no birthstone.

27. Take a pole dancing class [Completed!]
I just want to force myself to try something out my comfort zone. It was either this or skydiving

28. Read the Conflict of the Ages Series.
The Desire of Ages was an amazing book and I think the entire series is critical. I have all the books so I just have to put this plan into action.

29. Make a wig
It seems like such a useful skill, especially given my penchant for experimentation. I think I'll use this tutorial to try to achieve this look.

30. Read 25 books by the end of the year.
I initially planned to read 52 books this yea (one book a week) but couldn't keep up with that schedule. I used to love leisure reading but life got me off track. I have a lot of books that I begin and left uncompleted. Its time to clear the bookshelf.
