11. Get out of America [30 Before 30]

In truth, I should have made "Get a Passport" a portion of my 30x30 list cause, ya girl has been slacking over the past 29 years of existing. Nevertheless, I finally applied back in October and I got this beaut in the mail a few weeks ago! Overseas Adventures, here I come!!

And, to make this cake that much more delicious... I am heading out of the country!

My initial goal was to go to two countries before the end of the year. I can admit that I was a bit apprehensive that I had been too ambitious with my goal-setting, especially considering I hadn't had a passport at the time.

But, the Lord saw fit to make a way! A resounding 'thank you!' to everyone that alerted me to various flight deals and trips. My heart is so full knowing that so many people support my endeavors (and read my blog).

I'm heading out on a 6-day Western Caribbean cruise next week! Leaving from Miami, we'll be visiting Ocho Rios (Jamaica), Grand Cayman (Cayman Islands), and Cozumel (Mexico). One trip with three countries so my goal is met. I'm super excited to get out the country and I've always wanted to do a cruise. Also, in January, I'll be heading to Haiti for the first time ever, thanks to amazing team at My Haiti Travels. While I would have loved to have visited my parents' home towns on my first trip to the island, that will have to be something I save for my next trips. This go round, I'll be on 8-day trip which will allow me to visit Petionvillle, Cap-Haitien, and Cotes des Arcadins. I'll get to see the Citadelle (built in 1820 by Henri Christophe, it is one of the largest fortresses in the Americas and was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1982) and Palais Sans Souci (Royal Home to Henri Christophe acknowledged by many to be the Caribbean equivalent of the Palace of Versailles in France before a disastrous earthquake hit in the 1840s).

Of course, I'll have tons of pictures to post. Stay tuned!

    1. You and Brene Brown's "The Gift of Imperfection" inspired me to update the layout! I was reminded of the importance of "play", harnessing creativity everyday, and being intentional in pursuing passions. Updating the layout gave it a fresh feel and made it become a place I wanted to visit. So, thank you!
